The Bio-Acoustical Utilization Device (BAUD) is a device that creates sonic waves that coincide with brain frequencies measured by an electroencephalogram (EEG). By integrating the BAUD as a stimulant with other therapies, such as neurotherapy or music therapy, the individual can better grasp the significance of regulating their brain waves as well as other psychophysiological dimensions, such as relaxation and indices of mood. The BAUD is very mobile, and can be carried easily at home, school or work. This mobility makes it easier to integrate new learning to specific situations immediately, which is impossible with traditional neurotherapy and its expensive immobile equipment.
BAUD uses sonic, or acoustical, frequencies for safety. The science of modifying destructive responses to healthy ones via feedback is both ancient and recent medicine; however, the BAUD has created a new and more sophisticated method of administration.
A basic mechanism for altering neurofeedback response under the control of the individual is a third sonic waveform created by the interference of two produced sonic waveforms. That is the natural physics of energy and integration. This approach may be similar to the underlying medical models of acupuncture, which base healing principles on balancing the mind and body. The patient is given guidance to finding the frequencies necessary for desired affects. Spectrograms or other monitoring equipment often direct the frequencies.
