Forty-seven million people have been diagnosed with dementia globally with an estimate of three times increase by 2050. Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) is one the most causative factors to induce dementia. AD is a neurodegenerative disease related to the extensive cellular aggregates of amyloid B plaques and intercellular tangles made of hyperphorylated protein in cortical and limbic areas of the brain. Functional aspects correlate to memory deficits and cognitive dysfunction.
Advent of Acoustical Medicine
Perhaps the use of the stimulations of acoustics from ancient drumbeats to current possible the influence of day/night rhythms to depression is an ancient method of regulating body balance represents a new vision in health care. The revelation that external rhythmic sounds impact the brain frequencies and mood have been scientifically demonstrated (Maxfield, 2001; Institution of Transpersonal Psychology Dissertations) should not be surprising with the obvious reactions to various music arrangements.

The neuro40+ Modification
The Bio-Acoustical Utilization Device (BAUD) was patented by Lawlis and Lawlis and formally exempted the device as a “biofeedback Treatment” by the FDA. With the attention on the 40 Hertz frequency studied specifically for Alzheimer’s Disease, the dominant setting for 40 Hertz was predetermined as the major stimulus with the additional setting of 4 – 12 Hertz above 40 Hertz creating a binaural sound (Theta-Alpha) being set by the participant. Sound volumes are also set by the participant.
The strategy is to provide a process in which the brain can eradicate the toxicity in the brain through stimulation of the immune function, thus freeing the neurological functioning to function in a normal manner and eliminate the cause of brain disease.
